Making good dogs GREAT!

No need for dog training camps! We’ve designed our dog obedience classes to be once a week so that you can practise at home and come back ready to learn more.

Whether you need basic training for your new puppy or even for your older dog, we can help.  We offer classes that no longer segregate by age. Puppies always benefit from training, but sometimes an older dog have missed out on these basics. 

mojo alone new approachAt New Approach, we don’t want to leave these dogs behind.  We welcome dogs of all ages and breeds into our basic training classes.  All basic training sessions are preceded by a mandatory class for owners only.  This allows us to realize any expectations our owners may have and in turn, allows us to let them know about our approach to training

Pre-Puppy Inspection ($150 for 2 hours & report)

Get expert advice before you get your puppy. Did you know that you should get your breeder to keep your puppy for at least 8 weeks? Is your breeder handling the puppy and getting them used to human contact and noises? What dog food should you buy? What size crate? Are you going to crate train them? Mike can help answer all these questions and help puppy-proof your house - time to move those chemicals and get garbage cans with covers!

Starter Training ($179 for 5 weeks)

Ready to get your dog started on the basics? Your puppy can start training in our classes at 15 weeks (once they have their full run of shots). This class will help get your puppy socialized with other dogs and people while learning these basic commands:

  • Sit
  • Stay
  • Lie down
  • Recall

All classes work go at your speed and everyone graduates when we're done! The skills you learn in this class will useful for your dogs entire lifetime.

Intermediate ($179 for 5 weeks)

Once your dog can do everything in the Starter Training, you're ready for the next level!          

  • Fine tune your Basic Training
  • Further practice recall
  • Training with distraction
  • Addressing any minor behavioural issues

Advanced (One-on-one $75/hr)

  • Execution of all previous training
  • Further training with distraction
  • Effective correction
  • Off-leash training 

Our Advanced level is dog specific training. It is perfect for dogs with issues that go beyond in class training: whether its aggression, or just bad manners, we can help!
